The pie was very delicious and now I want to make another one.
The fruit is now all gone from the peach tree. The pears are still hanging on. I was worried that the fruit was all going to rot but it does seem that it is getting picked now.
Also Eliza B informed me that I have indeed seen pear trees in Brooklyn. I just didn't know it and they don't bear fruit.
